Minors Travel Policy

Our minors travel policy was conceived under the framework of Act 1098 of 2006 (Code of Children and Adolescents), section 3.10.1.9 of the Colombian Aviation Regulation (Transportation of Minors) and all other regulations applicable in our destination countries.

Infants

  • Minors under two (2) years old are considered "infants".
  • All infants must be accompanied by an authorized adult.
  • An adult passenger is allowed to hold only one infant on his/her lap
  • If you are traveling with two infants, the above condition applies to the first infant. For the second infant, you must purchase a seat at the available rate.
  • If the infant is not able to seat straight with the seat belt buckled up, you must carry a child seat, which must comply with the specifications provided in our Baggage Policy.
  • Newborn babies will not be allowed to fly until they are least 7 days old.
  • Wingo does not carry infants who require incubators for neo-natal care
  • Infants are not allowed to carry any checked baggage. Only one additional piece will be allowed in addition to the personal item and it must have the same dimensions of the personal item, e.g. a diaper bag
  • Items for infant assistance may be checked at the boarding gate at no extra charge (as long as you are traveling with your infant). These items may include child seats approved by Wingo’s Baggage Policy and collapsible baby carriages for small or big infants.
  • These items may be checked at the boarding gate at no extra charge to be carried in the cargo hold.
  • Passengers traveling with infants on their laps are not allowed to sit next to the emergency exits.

Domestic Destinations:

If you are traveling with an infant not occupying a seat, the infant may be carried free of charge, provided you hold him/her on your lap.
