Baggage for adult passengers traveling with children or infants

  • Child Seats (minors under 2) Wingo admits child seats as Additional carry-on baggage, as long as the dimensions do not exceed forty-five inches (45’’) and they can be stowed in the overhead compartments or under the passenger’s seat. Wingo recommends parents to check the FAA regulations on child seats. Parents may also carry an FAA-approved child harness device (CARES).
  • Baby Carriers: Wingo admits one baby carrier as checked baggage or Additional carry-on luggage, as long as it meets the following conditions:
    • Additional Carry-on luggage: As long as the carrier can be properly placed in the overhead compartments or under the passenger’s seat and it does not occupy any seat during take-off or landing.
    • Checked baggage: In case the baby carrier cannot be carried in the cabin, it must be checked in the cargo hold.

    • Checked Baggage: If your musical instrument or sport equipment exceeds 10 kilos, it must be carried in the cargo hold and you will have to pay the applicable fees.
  • Any special baggage to be carried in the cargo hold cannot exceed 32 kg and 319 cm.
  • Terms and Conditions
    • By purchasing this service, you will be able to carry your musical instrument or sport equipment either as checked baggage or carry-on baggage upon paying an extra fee. Remember to check the conditions and allowances that apply for this type of baggage

Bikes must be properly covered in foam rubber or placed inside a box with the necessary protection to prevent any damages. Tires must be deflated, pedals must be removed and the handlebar should be tied to one side of the bike. Small parts such as chains, brakes, screws, etc. should be placed inside a plastic bag.

Restrictions and Limitations

  • Sharp objects, liquids, gels, sprays or aerosols are not allowed as part of carry-on baggage (in the personal item and/or carry-on bag), since they may endanger in-flight safety. In the event, such items are permitted, they must be carried as part of the checked baggage
  • The following items are not allowed as part of checked baggage, therefore, Wingo shall not be liable for any loss or damage.
  1. Fragile Objects / Perishable Items:
    • Fresh meat; frozen meat; cheese; medicine; fruits and vegetables; candy; pastries; any other item that may decompose; money; jewelry, precious metals and gems; silverware; negotiable instruments; securities; passports; photographic cameras; video recorders; computers; tablets; mobile phones; calculators; eyeglasses; liquor or fragrance bottles. These items must be carried inside your personal item or carry-on bag if their condition allows it.
    • Food or plants are not allowed to be carried as part of your carry-on baggage (personal item and carry-on bag), nor as part of your checked baggage since they may spread pests or diseases upon entering other countries or during transfer to other regions of the country. These include the following items: Seeds; flowers; fruits; herbs; aromatic plants; vegetables; pesticides; plants with or without soil; organic products; meat and animal or vegetable by-products.
    • Transportation of items that are considered dangerous goods will be restricted depending on their condition.
  2. Lithium Batteries:
    • Due to aviation regulations, lithium batteries used for laptops, cellphones and cameras must be carried as carry-on luggage.
    • This kind of batteries can only be carried if they are installed on their corresponding electronic devices and protected from accidental activation.
    • Our passengers must not carry loose lithium batteries in their checked baggage.
    • Only two (2) rechargeable or non-rechargeable lithium batteries are allowed for each piece of carry-on luggage.
  3. Cremated Human Remains:
    • Cremated human remains (ashes) may be carried in the cabin without restriction.
    • They must be properly stored in an urn which should be wrapped in outer packaging to prevent damages or spills or making other passengers uncomfortable.
    • Such packaging must comply with the following conditions:
    • The urn must be made of a material (wood or plastic) that allows visual inspection of the contents when passing through security checkpoints at airports (such as X-Ray machines).
    • The urn must be wrapped in outer packaging and covered by shock-absorbing material to protect it from damages.
    • The passenger traveling with human remains must show a valid death certificate at the counter.
  4. Prohibited Items
    • Some items are considered dangerous as they can endanger aircraft and passengers’ safety; therefore, passengers must abstain from carrying the following items inside their checked or carry-on baggage.
    • Some of the include: Weapons; Explosives; Flammable items; Toxic products; Corrosive products; Radioactive items; Matches; Fireworks; Fuels; Paints; Solvents; Sealants; Bleaching agents; Acid products; Compressed gases
  5. Liquids allowed in carry-on baggage
    • They must be carried in containers that do not exceed one hundred (100) milliliters and need to be packed in plastic bags with zippers.
    • Inflatable Items:
    • Balls and balloons are accepted as carry-on baggage (in the cabin) and checked baggage (in the cargo hold), provided they are deflated.

Baggage policy for flights originating in or departing Mexico

  • Wingo offers you three fares for routes to/from Mexico or Cancun: Our Go Basic fare is a preferential fare for those cases when you decide to travel without baggage in compliance with the Mexican civil aviation regulations. Our Go Plus and Go Premium fares apply to those cases when you decide to travel with checked baggage.
  • Our Go Basic fare includes:
    • 1 personal item of up to 10 kg and 40x35x25 linear cm (height x length x width).
  • Our PLUS fare includes:
    • 1 personal item of up to 10 kg and 40x35x25 linear cm (height x length x width).
    • 1 piece of checked baggage of up to 25 kg for flights departing from MEX and CUN and up to 20 kg and 158 linear cm for flights departing from Colombia.***
  • Our Go Premium Fare includes:
    • 1 personal item of up to 10 kg and 40x35x25 linear cm (height x length x width).
    • 1 piece of carry-on baggage of up to 12 kg and 55x45x25 linear cm, including wheels and handles (height x length x width).
    • 1 piece of checked baggage of up to 25 kg for flights departing from MEX and CUN and up to 20 kg and 158 linear cm for flights departing from Colombia.***
       
  • If you need to take more baggage, Wingo allows you to take two more pieces of baggage of up to 20 kg and 158 linear cm upon paying an additional service fee.
